What does my pet need while boarding?

Anything that your pet could possibly need, we provide.

Here at Alpha Valley we furnish everything, from food, to treats, to toys and blankets.  Anything that your dog or cat could possibly need, we provide.  However, you are welcome to bring the comforts of home in whatever form you choose.

Can I Supply My Pet’s Food?

You don’t need to supply your pet’s food but may if you choose to. If you do, bring your own container of their preferred food—or even the entire bag!  Just make sure it’s labeled and that you write down any special feeding instructions.  Treats are also welcome! If you don’t bring your pet’s own food, we will supply a diet of high-quality, all-natural kibble.

What About a Bed?

We will supply your dog or cat with a bed or blankets if appropriate, but if you bring your own: please bring only machine-washable beds.  Sometimes beds get dirty and we want to be able to clean them before we give them back to you.

What About My Pet’s Favorite Toys?

Please limit the number of toys you bring to 3.  We have plenty of toys here and we don’t want yours to get lost.

What About Boarding My Bird, Reptile, or other small animal?

We ask that you bring the appropriate food, bedding and/or enclosures, and toys for your bird, reptile, or rodent. These animals have special needs unique to each species that likely cannot be easily met with the supplies we keep on hand.

What Vaccinations are required?

For the health and safety of all of the animals at Alpha Valley we require up to date vaccinations for all of our boarders.

required vaccinations For Dogs:

Required vaccinations for dogs include Rabies, the DHPP 9-in-1 series and the Bordetella vaccine.

Bordetella fights against Kennel Cough which is highly transferable between dogs that are sharing the same air and is extremely important, though not always given by some veterinarians.

Please touch base with your vet to ensure these vaccinations are up to date.

Required vaccinations for Cats:

Required vaccinations for cats are FVRCP and Rabies.

Can you call my vet to get the records?

We do not call vets because we are not the owner of the dog and medical records are private.

Can they fax or email them to you?

Yes!  Our fax number is 541-897-4399, and our email is snowball@alphavalleyboarding.com!

What will my dog’s day look like while they are boarding?

We keep a tight schedule at AVBK to ensure your animals feel safe and secure.

The Schedule:

Every evening around 8:00pm your dog will be confined to the indoor portion of their individual run to ensure maximum safety and security at night. First thing the following morning—around 8am—we let everyone out and begin feeding routines.

As soon as feeding is finished, usually around 9:00am, we start to clean the entire facility.  During this time, usually between 9:00am and noon, all boarded dogs will get a chance to stretch their legs and explore our exercise yards.

From noon to 2:00pm we play with all of the dogs who signed up for Playtime.

At around 3:30pm we start feeding routines again, and we let all the dogs out who get Recess out to the exercise yards until about 5:30.

Is there someone Onsite at all times?

Absolutely. We have multiple onsite residents.

Many boarding kennels aren’t equipped to keep staff onsite late into the evening and throughout the night. We’ve been fortunate at Alpha Valley that our location allows us to maintain multiple residences onsite, which include both the Owner’s full-time dwelling as well as a full-time caretaker. This provides a presence during evenings, nights, and weekends that many other facilities cannot match.

The residents at Alpha Valley Boarding Kennel include the owner, the caretaker, a handful of other tenants, as well as goats, chickens, cats, and dogs. We all know and love animals and are dedicated to providing them with a safe, healthy, fun and secure environment.

What about my pet’s medication?

We’re committed to following your veterinarian’s recommended medication routines.

Our veterinary-trained staff are highly skilled in the administration of common medications for dogs and cats, and will carefully maintain your veterinarian’s recommended medication schedule.

Is there an additional cost for administering medication?

All medication is charged at $1 a day. All medication brought into Alpha Valley gets organized into weekly pill organizers that are color coded for morning and evening administration.

AVBK Running Late Dog 1920x1229.png

what if i’m running late? can we meet after hours?

After-hours pickups & drop-offs will incur an extra fee.

I am going to be Late To Pick UP/Drop Off My Dog.  Will you Stay Open for Me?

Late pickups and drop-offs incur a fee equal to one additional night of boarding with no extras.

We will not always be able to accommodate late pick ups due to appointments made outside of the kennel’s open hours, but we will always try.

Can I schedule a Pick Up/Drop off Outside of your normal hours?

Out of hours pick ups and drop offs are available, but you must schedule them and have them approved by the Office Manager. Cost of an out of hours drop/off or pick up is $25.

If the pick-up or drop-off is more then a half an hour outside of our normal hours, it is considered to be Out of Hours as opposed to Late or Early.

If you make an appointment for a certain time you are expected to be at the kennel before or at that time.
